1847 N1 1847 N1c

EAC Grellman graded 45/30 harshly cleaned. Robert Dunfield did a great job of recoloring it. I call it a 45/35+ now. Ex Bill Simonson

1847 N3e

EAC grade XF45. Three reverse cuds...two are faint. The cud marked at AT should actually be marked at ST...it is very faint and barely noticeable. I bought it from Tom Reynolds at the Missouri Numismatic show in June 2007.

1847 N3f

EAC grade XF45. 4 reverse cuds...all strong. Ex RSB III, CVM. THis coin is TCC#7 of 22 known. It is a really sweet looking coin.

1847 N3f 1847 N3f #2

EAC grade vf25. 4 reverse cuds...only two show. ex PCGS XF40 slab. EAC Sale Lot 481 2007 Doug Durasoff. This coin is is lower end of CC range of 22 known.

1847 N7b

EAC Grade 25/20 for nicks. Obverse cud at star 1. Very rare with approx 15 known. This coin came from Sam Thurman's collection of large cents. It has been in the collection since he purchased it Feb 22nd,1988 from Pen Hall of Coins and Such.

1847 N7c

EAC Grellman graded 50/30 for micro corr and dark crud. I traded for this coin with Bill Simonson. I removed most of the dark crud but I still have some work to do. The grade assigned by Bob is quite harsh. This coin is a very cool looking coin. It almost looks stained...not corroded. It is the second stage of the cud progression on this variety with obverse cuds at star 1 and other extending to under date. It is slightly more common than the other cuds of the N7 with 17 known. Still quite rare!

1847 N7e

EAC Grellman graded 35+/20 late die state (e) 4 cuds... at star 1, cud extending to under date, cud star 11-12 and at star 2-3 Very rare with approx 15 known.

1847 N8d

EAC Grellman graded 45+ Terminal die state (d) 2RRB's. Very rare with this one being CC5 of 7 known. I bought this one at the Ira Goldber 9/07 sale. This was lot#2304.

1847 N11

EAC Grellman graded 50/35 for lt corr, finely granular and recolored. It is die state a. I bought this one on eBay. It looked like a solid XF coin with coin brown color. When it arrived it looked as though it had slighly "gritty" surfaces. I xyloled it and the grit came off like shoe polish to reveal a recolored coin. I am still pleased with the coin since it is a pretty tough R4 variety that was a 25pt upgrade for my collection.

1847 N11c 1847 N11c

EAC grade 12/8 for lt corrosion. It has two obverse cuds at stars 9 and 11. They are strong cuds. This coin came to me from Eric Fix in a trade. It is CC11 of 14 known.

1847 N12c 1847 N12c

1847 N12c 1847 N12c 1847 N12c #2

EAC Grellman graded 40/20. Robert Dunfield recolored this coin for me and it looks great. I have added extra pics. Strong Obverse cud stars 9-10. I would call it a 40/30 now and its a decent looking coin instead of a ugly duckling!

1847 N13c 1847 N13c

Grellman graded F15. Nice reverse die cracks.

1847 N13d 1847 N13 with rev cud over R in AMERICA

This is a tough coin to grade. I would say it has XF45+ sharpness but it has obvious obverse graffiti. The carvings read "1850" in the right field and what looks like "MOTHER" and maybe "T&W" on the face and left field. The coin is fairly rare in this die state with 14 known counting this new find. Im going to call this one a 45+/20 which would put it at the least finest known at #14. Besides the carvings the coin looks very nice and has outstanding detail...especially the reverse cracks.

1847 N14b

I just received this coin from George Siefrit. I would say the coin has about 15% red remaining. Its grade is at least a MS60+ coin but my knowlegde of MS coins is limited. I plan to send it to Bob Grellman for his opinion at some point in time. For now lets just call it a MS60 coin which would rank it CC#8 for this tough R4+ variety. It is die state b with the reverse legends cracked. I superb cent. One of my nicer coins. Thanks George! UPDATE:Grellman looked at the coin and called it 63/60+ for the little rim mark at k7 on the reverse.

1847 N21

EAC Grellman graded 55/45 die state b

1847 N26

EAC Grellman graded 50/45 die state c

1847 N26e rare die state

EAC Grellman graded 20/10 for an obverse scratch. The coin has a reverse cud at "OF-A". This one is tied for CC#14 of 15 known. I bought this one from Bob LaForme at the 2005 EAC Convention.

1847 N26f rare die state

EAC Grellman graded 15/8 for corrosion and verdigris. The coin has two reverse cuds at "E" in STATES and a second stronger cud at "OF-A". This one is tied for CC#7 of only 10 known. I bought it at the EAC Convention in Annapolis MD in 2005 from Doug Bird.

1847 N26f 1847 N26f rare die state

EAC grade is 15/8 for corrosion and verdigris. This coin is nearly a twin to the other in my collection. The coin has two reverse cuds at "E" in STATES and a second stronger cud at "OF-A". This one is tied for CC#7 of only 11 known. I bought it on eBay 5/30/08.

1847 N27 1847 N27a

EAC Grade 45/35 cleaned die state a. ex Ira Goldberg 9/24/07 Lot 2311. I wasnt really crazy about this coin but it was still a nice upgrade despite the cleaning.

1847 N28 LDS

EAC grade 45+/40 recolored. The coin is a very late die state. The orbs have probably worn off...what a shame. I picked this one up as a two coin lot from the Goldberg auction 9/07 as Lot #2311.

1847 N28e 1847 N28 (e) LDS

EAC grade 35/25 lightly pourous or corroded. This coin is CC#3 of 5 known

1847 N29b 1847 N29 (b)

EAC Grellman graded AU50+. ex Bill Simonson.

1847 N34c 1847 N34c

EAC Grellman graded F12. It is a tough R5 variety. ex Bill Simonson 7/23/06.

1847 N36

EAC Grellman graded 20 I just traded for this coin with Fred Borcherdt. It is a very tough R6 variety. The coin is almost choice in color and surface quality. It is tied for CC#9 at VF20.

1847 N38

EAC Grellman graded XF 40 with no comments on the card. The coin is nicer than the pics. I would call it a 45/40 for the small obv stains and the minor spot at star 5. A common variety but a big upgrade from my VF25 coin. The coin looks choice in hand.
